Kiran, MUMBA, Supper Club, Chef-at-home,

Hi, Iā€™m KIRAN.

I am Kiran, I'm Indian and was born and brought up in Bombay, with the best cook in the world, my Mother.

Growing up in India as a vegetarian is a gift because there is enough variety available to keep you interested and you never really feel the lack of anything.

Having the opportunity to travel, live and experience various cultures, I realised that very few people in the Western Hemisphere understood the joy of vegetarianism and shared the knowledge of spices. Things that growing up in India you take for granted.

Years later, after having had a very international career for 15 years in fashion, first as a buyer and then as a university teacher, I felt the need for a fresh start.

More importantly, I realised an inner need to do something that gave me joy and simultaneously served the community as well. Something that gave me purpose, connected me to my roots while living in Milan.

Living in Milan for a decade, being married to a German and having two children who are actually Italian in more ways than one, demanded creation of recipes and plates that would work for the whole family. Recipes that are spiced, but not just with chillies. Plates that flavourful and vibrant without being overwhelming.

This is how MUMBA was born.
